Jorg HEGEMANN (Allemagne)

Jorg HEGEMANN, born in 1966 in Vitten (Germany), is one of only a few piano players who have been commiting themselves to classical boogie woogie in the way of Albert Ammons, Meade Lux Lewis and Pete Johnson. Due to his powerful and enthusiastic way of playing boogie woogie, Jorg has been thrilling his international audience for years. Over the past years, his Boogie Woogie Express participated in a lot of large jazz festivals (Dixieland Festival, Desden – Jazz Ralley, Dusseldorf – Jazz Ralley, Luxembourg …etc…). At Jazz Festival Sarospatak in Hungary, where Jorg has been regular guest for years, he played in 1996 together with Joe Muranyi, tha famous clarinet player who tourer with Louis Armstrong. In Bergen (Norway) jorg usualyy plays at the final dances of an international boogie dance contest. After quite a few guest performences on tv and countless concerts between Bad Reichenhall and Sylt, Jorg HEGEMANN's Boogie Woogie Express meanwhile belongs to the best this genre has to offer.
