PAPA'S FINEST BOOGIE BAND (Allemagne)

This band was founded in 1991 by three professional german musicians living all around Frankfurt: Volker Picard (bass/vocals); Frank Spannaus (piano/vocals); Holger "Schlomo" Schütz (drums). After two years, they decided to take a fourth musician into the band, Matthias Rüdiger (tenor sax). From then they succeeded in playing in all the numerous and well-known jazz-festivals in Germany and in the neighbour countries (e.g. Leverkusen, Gronau, Burghausen, Wendelstein, Dresden, Worms, Ingolstadt, Lichtensteig (Schweiz), Meilen (Schweiz), Cala d'Or (Mallorca) and many more. Whereever they perform, people love their furious music which combines classic tunes made famous by Meade "Lux" Lewis, Albert Ammons, Ray Charles, Louis Prima, Louis Jordan, Fats Domino and many others with new numbers they wrote and arranged themselves. There are many fans that accompany the band to their shows in order to dance there, and the 2 first CDs have been positively regarded by fans and criticians.
