Martin SCHMITT (Allemagne)

Martin SCHMIT was born in 1968 in Munich. At the age of 14, he took his first music lessons (piano & tuba) from his grand-father who was a music teacher at the Richard Strauss music Conservatory of Munich.. In 1984, for the first time he played blues & boogies live with a large success. Martin is influenced by a lot of masters of jazz piano, from stride to rhythm & blues, James Pete JOHNSON, Willie « The Lion » SMITH, Fats WALLER, Teddy WILSON or Ray CHARLES. He has been invited to play with a lot of piano masters like Ray BRIAN, Martial SOLAL, Dr JOHN. He plays regularly in great festivals in Europe and all around the world. His first album is issued in 1993 « Handful Of Blues » (solo), and his second in 1995 « Five Feet & The Blues ». This young pianist is also a brilliant singer. His 7th album has just come out.
