Christian BLEIMING (Allemagne)

Born in 1960, Christian Bleiming belongs to the "middle generation" of Germany's Blues & Boogie elite. The "Westphalian Boogie King" from Münster plays in a traditional style in the manner of "Pinetop" Smith, Meade "Lux" Lewis and other Old masters. Moreover, he not only interprets classics of the genre, but presents very appealing compositions of his own as well. His regular TV-appearances in the WDR-3-talkshow "Theatercafe live" made him popular in the Münsterland-area, before his touring activities sent him to such diverse places as Sylt, Dresden, the Bodensee, as well as to venues abroad. His unmistakeable approach to Boogie-Woogie, together with his deep feeling for the world of the Bluespiano have culminated in a very individual piano-style that has made Christian Bleiming a sought-after accompanist. As a result he has continued to appear frequently in Radio and Television, as well as in live concerts, backing such artists as the singers Angela Brown and Jeanne Carroll, Bluesmusicians like "Big" Joe Duskin, Tommie Harris, Guitar Crusher, Tommy "Madman" Jones and two of the European Boogie-Masters, Martin Pyrker and Axel Zwingenberger. Between 1990 and 2001, Christian Bleiming brought out five CDs, which impressively document his development as a pianist. In particular his third album („Boogie-Woogie Power-Train“), embued with allusions to the good old Iron horse, and thus to original Boogie-Woogie, established a place of honour for the Münsterite in the circle of the boogie greats. This success was followed in 1998 by the CD „Boogie That Blues Away!“, which offers Christian Bleiming displaying both his great talent in a sensintive interpretation of the Blues titles contained on the album and his furious Boogie-piano, mixed with pieces in which he artifully accompanies the singer Tommie Harris. In 2001, the CD "Solo & Live" matched the expectations of those listeners, who prefer a Boogie-Woogie-style without bass, drums and other accompanying instruments.
