Dennis KOECKSTADT (GERMANY)
Here is the biography of Dennis KOECKSTADT, a young German pianist. Dennis was born in Guetersloh in 1979.
He studies the traditional piano during 8 years. He discovers then Boogie Woogie, this old style of American music. During 5 years, he works hard on the keyboard of its piano. He plays Blues, Boogies or Shuffles even composed by himself.
He plays sometimes with some stars of the piano blues & boogy such as Axel Zwingenberger, Frank Muschalle or Christian Rannenberg.
He gives concerts in the jazz club of the area. He meets Little Willy Littlefield, and Vince Weber.
He also plays with the German groups The Boogie Connection and The Boogie Woogie Company.
He took part in the 14th and 15th Berlin Boogie Woogie sessions with Christian Rannenberg and Steve "Big Man" Clayton.
In October 1998, Dennis has produced his first album with the group G-Town boogie: "Blues, Shuffle & Roll". At the beginning of the year 2003, Dennis has produced his second album "Shift It Up" with Stefan Ulbricht (piano) and Jan Koeckstadt (drums).
One of the probably dazzling talents of the German Blues & Boogie scene is Dennis. He has played with Frank Muschalle, Vince Weber, Axel Zwingenberger and many others great piano players of the Boogie scene and he reached rapidly an excellent reputation. His teacher is by the way the German blues pianist Chris Rannenberg.
