GIRLY & The BLUE CAPS (Austria (Autriche))
Girly And The Blue Caps – that’s swing, boogie, rock'n' roll and big band sound of the Fifties aera, reproduced authentically by a 9-member band. Two routined musicians front the band: Regina Hebein, the missing link between Ella Fitzgerald, Marilyn Monroe and Keely Smith – and Georg Weiss, the legendary founder of the Fifties-revival-scene in and around Vienna.
The band was founded in 1992, starting as a „just for fun“-experiment, but quickly finding the audience‘s favour to a much higher extent than expected. Soon the standard instrumentation (drums, double-bass, piano, guitar, saxophone, vocals) was enlarged by trumpet and trombone.
The broad spectrum of the band’s program does not allow any boredom. Spiced with humor, wisecracking and skills the program includes everything imaginable for an entertaining evening.
A special extra is the christmas-show which is presented by Girly And The Blue Caps every year before christmas.
