back to artists Nico BRINA (Suisse) Nico was born in Biel, Switzerland, on 29 september 1969. At the age of nine he dicovered the piano, witch he eventually mastered by a combination of music lessons and learning on his own. After learning the basics, he threw himself into rock'n'roll. Five years later in 1983 saw the start of the Rocl 'n' Roll band "Jive Boys" in wich Nico played in several concerts, both in Switzerland and abroard, as well as on TV. The release of the CD "Jive Boys" was the first high point in his career as pianist.
In 1988 Nico BRINA successfully took up the challenge of being able to earn a living as a musician. He appeared in clubs, pubs, and private performances. In 1990 he decided to widen his musical talents and knowledge at the "Swiss Jazz School" in Bern. There he had the opporunity to perform with the band "Buddy Dee é the Ghost Riders", and helped with the CD "The Ghost Are Alive", released in 1992. In 1993 Nico met the drummer Thomas FAHRER which marked he beginning of their musical partnership as well as a lasting friendship. The fruits of their collaboration have included four CD's so far.
In 1996 Nico got into the Guinness Book of Records by playing, with his left hand, 608 beats a minute and in a 1/8 boogie-woogie rythm. He has the honor of being the fastest Boogie Woogie player. website : www.nicobrina.ch
