Elias BERNET (SWITZERLAND (SUISSE))
Boogie-Woogie and Blues
Piano/Voice
Elias was born in 1984, October 29, in Saint Gall (Switzerland).
The very early years
Already when he was two years old Elias was fascinated by music, first of all by musicians on the streets. He created his very own sound with boxes, pans and various stuff one founds on the dump.
Elias and Philipp (2001-2003)
A few years later Elias reaped the fruit of his labour with the duo “Elias and Philipp” until – after more than 50 success- and powerful gigs (also in national TV ‘SF DRS’ and in private TV ‘TVO’) – they split in friendship.
…but the end had a new beginning (2003-2005)
Elias worked hard on his songwriting and lyrical expression when his latest CD-production came in sight. After a long search for something new he found his second passion in life: The blues, nothing but the blues! For Elias, blues and boogie-woogie together form a perfect circle and complete eachother. “This certain music fits me with its deep melancholy and thoughtfulness – already years before, my family gave me nicknames pointing out that I am very serious and used to think a lot. Why it is exactly this kind of music, I don’t know. All I know is, that I can’t stop playing, singing and listening to it. This music keeps on crawling in my venes and I have to let out what’s inside me.”
Elias produced with four additional musicians (on drums, bass, guitar and saxophone) – the “crème de la crème of the eastern-swiss music scene” like the “St.Galler Tagblatt” said – his first professional CD called “takin’ the path home”. See the statements of well-known musicians and people in the business to find out what they think of Elias’ latest masterwork. Elias wrote 10 of 11 songs on his very own.
The baptism of the CD, with CD-godfather Roman Brülisauer and hostess Monika Fasnacht, became a great success and the media was impressed: “(…) After three hours and three encores, a new promise for the future was born in Saint Gall: Elias Bernet. We believe, that the final standing ovation of this evening wasn’t the last one for him.” (St.Galler Tagblatt)
Since then Elias had the chance to play in further TV-appearances, radio shows and gigs in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. He even managed to do concerts with his biggest models: Philipp Fankhauser (CH), Rudy Rotta (Italy), Sandra Hall (USA). In February 2004 blues-star Philipp Fankhauser invited Elias to a demanding jamsession in Mühlethurnen, where he met US-bassplayer Randy Lippincott who will organize concerts in the United States for Elias.
