Richie LOIDL (AUSTRIA)
Richie Loidl was born in 1967 in Bad Ischl, close to Lake Wolfgangsee, Salzkammergut, Austria. Classical piano-education in music scool for 7 years. Started to play boogie & blues in 1985 after he got Vince Weber`s disc "I`m the Boogie Man" as a christmas-present. Listened to Ammons, Johnson & Lewis recordings but was mainly influenced by contemporary pianists like Axel Zwingenberger, Joja Wendt, Martin Schmitt.
Graduated at Tourism College (1985) and University of Innsbruck (1997, managerial economics). Studied together with Clemens Vogler and playes in duo with him since that time. Since 1995 they organize the Shake the Lake Boogie Festival at Lake Wolfgangsee once a year together with Markus Brandl and Johnny Schütten
Richie lived and worked in Paris from 1996-1997. Since that time friendship and many projects together with Jean-Pierre Bertrand and with other french musicians. Speaks perfect French (and English)
He played together with Axel Zwingenberger, Vince Weber, Martin Schmitt, Joja Wendt, Jean-Pierre Bertrand, Jean-Paul Amouroux, Jo Bohnsack, Gottfried Böttcher, David Gazarov, Martin Pyrker, Mojo Bluesband, Fabrice Eulry, Little Willi Littlefield, Bob Seeley, Wendy de Witt, Rudy "Blueshoes" Wyatt, Silvan Zingg, Frank Muschalle, Christoph "Stoffi" Steinbach, Steve "Big Man" Clayton, Tibor Grasser, Christian "Bibo" Willisohn, Christian Christl, etc.
He played in Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Slovakia, Canada. He is a specialist for company & society events and played on almost all big boogie & blues festivals in Europe.
His music is full of emotion, "groove" and fun. Cannot read the keys; learned everything by heart - and "by request": Therefore his repertoire covers the "most wanted songs"...
When not playing piano he works in advertising & marketing project-management for a Munich-based company (GFB & Partner Marketing Services) - after different jobs in tourism-marketing and consulting sector.
