Ray COLLINS' Hot Club

Ray Collins' Hot-Club are certainly one of the hottest 1950s style jump-boogie-blues bands ever come out of Europe. In fact, once you listen to their recordings, you'd probably agree that they are amongst the best in the world today. And as close to a perfect early 50s sound as you could get. This is a truly outstanding collection of high-quality rythm and blues. Good-time music with a solid beat. It's extremly rare that a new band comes up with a really exciting sound that that genuinely captures the spirit of the classic recordings of legendary 50s artists. But in here, you will hear shades of Tiny Bradshaw, Joe Houston, Big Jay McNeely, Joe Liggins, Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, Wynonie Harris and Ike Turner's Kings of Rhythm. Ray Collins' arrangements, production and mastering, are testimony to the meticulous attention to detail that has gone into making these incredible new recordings. And what's so exciting about their first CD is that twelve of the fourteen tracks were written by the band themselves. These are modern day classics that are just crying out for airplay. If you get the chance to see Ray Collins' Hot-Club play live, you'll enjoy a show and hear a sound that is straith out of 1951. An unbelievable journey back to the birth of rock'n'roll. High energy, exuberant and glamourous. Any club is a Hot-Club when Ray Collins is in town ! Robin Weathersbee.(UK)
